The Liver Transplant Program at UMass Memorial offers the Pre- and Post-Surgery
Liver Transplant Support Group to patients and their loved ones. There are
occasional prescheduled topics or presentations, but the format emphasizes
spontaneous conversations among individuals on subjects such as nutrition,
medical compliance, medications, financial support options, family
relationships, depression, substance abuse and attitude toward illness. The
group is facilitated by the liver transplant social worker and meets once a
month.
